The Teesdale Pottery Group is an organisation for anyone interested in practical pottery and ceramics in the dale. It was formed to encourage high quality practical pottery skills locally and to provide space and equipment for making pottery. Membership is open to anyone resident in the Teesdale and the surrounding areas.
We have equipment for making pottery: a kiln and wheels which are available for workshops, classes or for community groups, artists and craftspeople in our area. The facilities are housed in the technology block at Teesdale School Science College and Sixth Form Centre in Barnard Castle. There is good access and parking.
The kiln is also suitable for glass and enamelling. Teesdale Pottery Group would like to hear from any artists or craftspeople who have specialist skills they would like to share.
There is an adult evening class which anyone over 16 can join. This class is suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. We also hold advanced workshops for members who wish to explore certain techniques.
