A wall piece entitled "Embrace the World" created by all the children at Peases West Primary Billy Row, Crook County Durham. Featuring the countries: India, Japan, USA, Africa, Spain. 2004
Following a trip to Barcelona, the school were enthused by the wonderful tiles, mosaics and the festival atmosphere of the city. They were also learning about other countries and cultures so the theme of this piece was to celebrate and embrace the world. Each year worked on a particular section: India, Japan, USA, Africa and Spain, and every child in the school [from Nursery to Year 6: 3-11 years old] made a piece to represent that country. The freeform shape echoes the organic curves found in the Barcelona architecture.
